Millet is a type of ancient grain that is used in many different cultures. It transcends continents and can be found in the staple diet of many peoples across the globe—India, Africa, China and Indigenous Australia. Traditionally it's been used as a recuperative food (such as post pregnancy and to aid recovery from illness). It is synonymous with comfort, regeneration and health.

Millet also features in Ayurveda and TCM. Millets have been regaining in popularity in recent years due to their nutritional content. They are also more climate resilient. They previously lost popularity to grains like wheat, rice, and corn, which received more research and funding.
